Design- Primary and Secondary Research

I was given two categories that I had develop ideas from, these were 'an organisation and packs flat'. I had a few ideas that I liked but I chose one that I thought would be useful for the world of theatre. This was to create an inflatable pack flat theatre that would promote an upcoming production by a theatre company e.g. The Lion King. I then expanded this idea and designed a variety of entrances of theatres that I thought would suit the Lion king Musical. As my independant study task i had to gather some information for my primay and secondary research. For my Primary research I chose to take some photographs of theatre entrances, I completed a live drawing of an entrance and lastly I interviewed a theatre director and found out what he thought of my idea and how he promotes his shows.

For my artist research I looked into the artist Camille Walala who has inspired me to create my inflatable theatre. She created an inflatable castle for the public to interact with and to show her art and designs to a wider audience. I found an article of Camille and her artwork in a magazine that has also helped me with my research.
