Our first task was to take the giant table tennis bat into the outdoor environment and disrupt reality. We had two words that we had to think about when taking photographs of our item, these were 'busy and funtional'. We thought that these words would work well with the table tennis bat and would suit the theme. I then printed the photographs I thought were best and experimented with these using the collage technique.

After taking the photographs we were each given a word at random and I got the word 'Scattered'. I thought that this was an interesting word to work with and had a variety a inital ideas. These included home interiors scattered in the outside environment. We were then taught a variety of new techniqques, including battise, mono printing and collage work. I choose to experiment with these first, creating some ink and battise collages. I then incorporated the collage technique with the battise, to create a scattered effect.

After creating these mini experiments I looked deeply into them to find some ingredients that I could use to create my final collage piece. I enjoyed the battise technique so I looked at my work that I did and identified that it could show a chaotic map. So I decided to create a bigger piece to show a busy map, that would show the fast movement of the city. I chose to add some road names because I wanted to make it easily identifiable for the audience.

I chose to develop this map idea and create a 3D flat pack map, that would show dimension and depth.
