The artists that have ifluenced and inspired my ideas for this project were identified in my project brief introduction session.

Ronnie Campana

Ronnie Campana is a documentary photographer from Milan. His most famous documentary photography project that he produced was called 'Badly Repaired Cars', which is a celebration of imperfections and haphazard attempts at car body repair. I found this project of Ronnie's very intriguing becuase it was a simple issue to document but conveys a variety of issues and messages, just in one photograph. Throughout the series he documents cars contain bad repairs such as mismatched paintwork, a Waitrose carrier bag and turquoise tarpaulin. These ideas of repairing are qiuck and easy for people to do but creates an interesting focus point that other people pick out.

I like how Ronnie has thought about the colours and picked out the cars with vibrant and striking colours that add interesting connotations to the car. The angle of each photograph adds character to the car and creates a vivid focal point of the badly repaired part. Ronnie's idea has inspired me to think about cars in a different way and to think about more of the driving aspect.

Nick Turpin

Nick Turpin is a street and documentary photographer who is based in London. Nick's documentary project conveys striking photographs of people through a misty bus window. To get these photograph nick travelled throughout london on a raniy day to see what photographs he could capture through a bus window. In some of his photographs there are bold/bright colours that add to the message of the individual. Also in some photographs shown there are movements of humans shown faintly but can be hard to identify a person. I like how the photographs are captured randomly and show what some peoples life are like.

Paul Graham

Paul Graham is an english fine art and documentary photographer who creates striking photographs that convey many different messages. One of Paul's latest projects shows a journey that he made, where he stopped at serveal places to capture unique qualities. These photographs all came together to create a documentary project showing a road trip he had ventured in 1981. Paul has incorporated a variety of landscape and portrait photography in this project, which works well because it shows that his journey had passed through both rual and urban areas.

I was really interested in paul's photography work becuase each photograph shows different messages/issues that he has discovered throughout his journey. I am mainly inspired by his portraits of different people he has come across during his journey becuase it means that these photographs weren't planned and each portrait shows individuality and uniqueness of the person in their environment. I am planning to photograph portraits of young people outside their cars to convey....

Paul Wenham Clark

Paul Wenham clark is a commercial, advertising and documentary photographer. His project that has inspired me throughout this project is 'When Lives Collide'. This project of his documents families loosing members of their family through car accidents. This links to my project because I am looking into young drivers that own cars. I documenting more about the happiness of driving rather than the accidents that can happen. I feel like this project of Paul's works really well because he has re-created accidents but then incorporated family emotions and feelings that have have experienced these traumatic events. I think that documenting the reality creates a strong message about the dangers of driving and what effect they can leave on families. The messages given can be found from the families emotions and gestures that they are showing to the camera. Overall, this project was very inspiring because the way he has used reality and recreation in his project shows originality.
