I had a few initial ideas of what I could document for this first project. These include documenting a variety of abandoned shops around bornemouth, documenting a journey between two places and documenting CTTV cameras. I liked this idea of documenting some kind of journey so I began to think about driving. Then I came to the idea of documenting young drivers to show how confident of a driver they are and how different the interiors of young drivers cars can look e.g. untidy or clean.
Artist Influences
There were a few artists that have influenced my overall idea. For example Ronnie Camapana, who captures badly repaired cars. I thought that this was an interesting concept becuase the idea is very simple and easy to create but very effective. I also felt that the photographer Nick Turpin also inspired my ideas becuase different people through bus windows, which creates an idea of journey and movement. Another photographer that I looked into was Paul Graham, who completed a road trip and captured different moments throughout that journey that were interesting.
Moodboard
I created a moodboard/Look book to show artist images that link to a variety of catogries e.g. colour, tone, direction of light, field of view and background. I felt that this task helped me to gather and develop my ideas.
