Spencer Murphy is a fine art and commercial photographer who is based in London. His documentary project 'Urban dirt bikers' has inspired me because he uses a variety of portraits to document a motor biking community. I have found inspiration from his ideas of portraiture because I like the way he captures a head shot of the model and then a full shot of the model on their motor bike. I feel like this idea really works well in documenting the issue as well as the community involved. In the head shots of the models he creates a low depth of field, which creates a vivid focal point of the model.
The environment that the photographs are taken in relate to the models well and create vivid messages about their community. Also capturing a non busy background creates a focus of the models instead of them just getting lost in the composition. I have taken this idea onboard and will think about this when developing my documentary project and creating my photobook.

These are a few examples of how spencer murphy presents his images in his photobook. I really like the idea of having these two images next to eachother becuase it displays vividly who they are and how they are involved in the biking community.
