Philip Lorca Research

Philip Lorca is an American photographer, who incorporates a variety of different appoaches and styles within his work e.g. narrative and documentary. I am mainly inspired by his portraiture because the lighting used creates a unique feel to the photograph, by creating a focal point. This is a similar style that I want to create with the lighting.

Some of Philips large-scale color prints create a narrative mixture of truth and fiction. I like this idea about narrative becuase it creates mystery and leaves unanswered questions about what the images show. Overall, I feel that these images give me inspiration on the lighting and positing of the models.
