Theory Research- Rineke Dijkstra Portraits

Rineke Dijkstra's book has been useful research for this project becuase she has taken photographs of a group of people that were unknown to her. I feel that this links to my idea becuase I too will be working with a group of people connected by themes. I will be taking two photographs of the same person to compare between acting and natural poses.I liked how some of her beach portraits have been compared to great works of artwork. For example the model on the front page resembles the position of Botticelli's artwork 'Venus'. I am inspired how she has mixed the subject of art within her photography to create original portraits. This is an approach that I might to consider working with in future projects.
