Tutorial week

I had a brief tutorial with Lauren, where we disscussed my idea and how I can expand my research development. There were two photographs that she liked becuase of the lighting used and how both photographs of the same person significally showed similarities and differences. We talked about maybe asking the actors to create an action of a character, rather than getting them to perform a speech becuase in some of my photograph the image slightly blurred. I feel like this tutorial with Lauren really helped and made me understand what improvements I have to make and how to do my next photoshoot, next monday.

I had a more detailed tutorial with Matt, where we disscussed what I need to do to complete this project to the best of my ability. I found that matt liked the same two photographs and also liked some of the mid-performance photos, however some were slightly blurry. To improve the focus on some of my photos he said to maybe use a flash light. Also to maybe give the actors a play line to follow and let them perform this, while taking photographs. I think that Matt helped me to understand what lighting I should use to improve the focus, but I feel like a flash might be too harsh. This is becuase I used a flash for my narrative project, which worked well with recreating the film noir effect. Whereas the location lighting kit was softer and created more of a spotlight effect, which I want for my portrait project.
