This was my second photoshoot that I completed and I feel that this B&B design was a lot closer to the old fashioned quintessential atmosphere that I want. However, I felt that it wasn't perfect because there weren't many quirky ornoments or decor that would convey old Englishness. Some of the photographs that I captured showed traces of human involvement e.g. with the coffee mug on the windowsill or the laundry room. I found it hard to capture this because this B&B was quite clean and tidy, with only a few objects left. I feel like I should have gone to do the shoot when some customers had just left, meaning I could view rooms after and capture any left belongings, which might reveal human identity. This is an idea that I will consider when looking at other B&B's to photograph. I believe that the natural lighting used worked perfectly to capture interiors, especially when photographing netted curtains. This furnishment can help to produce a more softer light that highlights objects subtly. Overall, I feel that this shoot went well conveying some traces of human interaction and some old fashioned interiors.
For this shoot I experimented with a few camera techniuqes that have improved the images and create a striking focal point. For example I explored low depth of field to create a vivid background, which can leaves suggestions about the surrounding environment. I also used the high depth of field technique to create a strong foreground of the image. These camera techniques have definatley worked well with this project because I have used them to highlight striking elements of the B&B that customers might not recognise when they stay.
For my next photoshoot I aim to visit a very old fashioned B&B, conveying Englishness as first sight. I feel that I will find the perfect one that will fit all of my criteria's of my project and will be very interesting to work with. Improvements to make will be to consider more camera techniques in my shoots and to use tripod more to balance the camera frame. The main problem that occured was with the lighting becuase the building inside was very dark and created shadows on some of my images. To overcome this I could have experimented with the Nikon Speedlight o help highlight the objects.
